MagmaSync

1. Information Collection and Use

Your privacy is important to us. The MagmaSync app itself is designed to require minimal permissions and does not require you to create an account, provide your name, or share personal contact information in order to use the basic features.

However, to improve the app, monitor crashes, and understand usage trends, MagmaSync utilizes Firebase Analytics. This means certain non-personally identifiable information may be collected automatically, including:

• Device information (e.g., model, operating system version)
• General usage data (e.g., screens visited, buttons tapped)
• Crash reports and performance data
• Approximate location data (inferred from IP addresses generally without exact GPS coordinates)

This information is used strictly to maintain the functionality of the app, diagnose bugs, and improve user experience.

2. Third-Party Services

The app relies on third-party services that may collect information used to identify you according to their own privacy policies.

Google Analytics for Firebase: We use Firebase (provided by Google) to collect usage and crash reporting data. You may review Google's privacy policy to understand how they process this data: Google Privacy Policy.

Apple Intelligence & Translation APIs: MagmaSync utilizes Apple’s on-device translation and Apple Intelligence APIs. This data is processed natively on your device subject to Apple's own privacy constraints and is not collected or viewed by the developer of MagmaSync.

3. Push Notifications

If you opt-in to receive push notifications (e.g., for volcano alert level changes), MagmaSync utilizes Firebase Cloud Messaging to route these alerts to your device. This involves registering a unique, anonymous device identifier token. This token is not linked to your personal identity and is used solely for delivering messages requested by you.

4. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If I discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, I will immediately delete this from the servers.

5. Security

We value your trust in providing whatever minor non-personal data is used to run the app, and we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
